Destination Wedding, Cancun Mexico by Mark Anthony Studios

Match Made in Holt

Giselle and Mike were married on March 29th  in the beautiful and tropical Cabo San Lucas, located in Mexico.   Mark Anthony Studios was invited to photograph the elegant and luxurious event which was featured in Elegant Wedding Magazine.

The couple first met at Holt Renfrew, where they worked together, but their professional relationship turned to something more when they reconnected after Mike was promoted and transferred to a different location.   Their shared love for kickboxing and fashion eventually led to their shared love for one another, and a year later on July 1st, Mike proposed.   The proposal was nothing short of romantic and something out of a movie.   Ironically, it was during a movie screening of ‘Bridesmaids’ when to Giselle’s surprise, she found a ring in her bag of popcorn. It was wedding bells, palm trees and white dresses from there.

Both non traditionalists, the couple dreamed of a destination wedding from the beginning and so, the beauty, culture and beaches of Mexico drew them to the Sheraton Hacienda del Mar.   Surrounded by palm trees, soft white sand and the sparkling blue Sea of Cortez, the hotel was a stunning setting for their dream wedding and of course, a beautiful backdrop for their photographs.

Fifty guests joined them to bask in the tropics and help them celebrate.   After a few days of relaxation, Mike and Giselle exchanged vows in a beautiful chapel located within the resort, decorated with candles and lavender to create a romantic ambiance.  They were serenaded by a female vocalist Nyda Aboumrad, before the couple then joined all of their loved ones on the beach and danced the night away under sparkling stars, to songs by Spanish guitar player Arturo Sotomayor, and DJ Edwin Bonilla.

The event- planned and organized by Giselle’s mother, event planner for EME Inc., Enaya Rabba- was beautifully decorated, incorporating everything Giselle had envisioned. It was a blend of fashion, elegance and the sea, as purple, green and blue colors enhanced and drew on the natural beauty of their surroundings. Centerpieces were a striking combination of the sea and sand, using sea shells, moss, sand and sand dollars, embellished with orchids and greenery. Custom made shells on each guest’s chair were studded with a pearl.

It was Giselle, however, who stunned in her form-fitting Carlos Miele gown.   A Cartier Trinity diamond engagement ring sparkled on her finger, along with her wedding band- a double pave ring by Charriol.   Mike’s handsome David Yurman wedding band incorporated black pave diamonds.

Their beautiful seaside, beach wedding was an unforgettable event, and their photographs will always be a reminder of the magical night and their everlasting love.

Destination Wedding Cancun Mexico, Mark Anthony Studios

Something Old and Something Blue

Something old and something blue.  The old traditions of a beautiful Sikh wedding under clear blue Caribbean skies.

Mark Anthony Studios was invited to be a part of Ken and Pauline’s destination wedding in Cancun Mexico, to cover both photography and cinematography.  The event took place at the stunning Moon Palace Resort where luxurious accommodations and tropical weather met a fairytale setting for the British Columbia couple’s special day.  One hundred and fifty guests who traveled from Canada and overseas to celebrate the special day, partied, dined and lounged with the bride and groom, as we captured every magical, emotional and colorful moment of all three events;  the Mayian and Sangeet  (traditional cleansing ceremony and pre-wedding celebrations),  the Ceremony and the Reception, held on three separate days.

Big congratulations to the happy couple and may you enjoy the memories through your beautiful pictures, for many years to come!
